Dr. Fatimah Jackson, SciCafe Dec. 4, 2013
While she wasn’t talking about polyamory, at the 12/4/13 SciCafe at the American Museum of Natural History, she inadvertently explains some of the game theory behind attraction to partnered people. A partnered organism, she argued was already more like to be robust, and in the choice between robust and not, nature favors the robust.
For example: Humans / Grasses / Livestock. Two organisms coevolving over time, attract a third that makes them all stronger. While any combination of the other two would work, they are stronger as an interconnected triad.
How fascinating. I could see this being a true thing, especially considering I seem to have a thing for, you know, couples.
